Rule brief / checked
Amazon title requirements: the July 27, 2026 change.
Amazon announced a 75-character maximum for non-media product titles starting July 27, 2026. The limit includes spaces. This page separates the dated announcement from the current public rule page so the timing remains traceable.
Length
Titles in all categories except media may contain no more than 75 characters, including spaces.
Extra context
Amazon announced an additional Item Highlights field of up to 125 characters. It is searchable and displayed with the title.
Update path
Amazon said over-limit titles would be updated gradually with AI-generated recommendations while listings remain active.
Brand review
Brand owners were told they would have 14 days to review a recommended title change.
What the rule does not prove
A title under 75 characters is not automatically acceptable. Category requirements, prohibited language, identifiers and evidence for product claims can still matter.
An over-limit title observed before the announced start is an upcoming enforcement risk, not proof that the listing was already in violation when captured.
Check a draft before publishing
Paste the title and bullets into the browser-only audit. It counts the title, links hard findings to a source and keeps evidence-dependent claims in human review.
